About Music
I compose to fulfill my innate yearning for creativity. Unlike poetry, music has a unique power to convey cryptic emotions in a raw and instinctual way. It enables to explore the disordered depths of emotions while overcoming policings of the rationality. Music has the ability to communicate directly with the unconscious mind, without the need for any intermediaries, due to its lack of concepts. While I agree that this is not the case for all music, it is what I aspire for when I compose. For me, music is the ultimate medium to transcend cerebral boundaries and achieve new heights of artistic expression.
Time is a Concept
​Together with the extraordinarily gifted London-based director of photography Alp Topcu, we aimed to capture the elusive sensation of time slipping away and the consequent emptiness. This picture marks a significant artistic and personal accomplishment for me. It was a privilege to be able to contribute a musical score to this project as a composer and I'm pleased with the vivid soundscapes I was able to create.
Difficulties of Being a Bird
During the pandemic lockdown, I composed "Difficulties of Being a Bird," an instrumental song with dense melodies and harmonies that portray the perils of daily life. It consists of haunting guitar lines and synths that portray the dread induced by prolonged isolation and resulting loss of contact with normalcy.
